Talent Recruitment Director

The Talent Recruitment Director is responsible for building and managing our contractor and crew network to support ongoing and future productions. This role focuses on sourcing, vetting, and maintaining a roster of high-quality talent, with an emphasis on building strong local connections in Lexington, Kentucky, while also managing remote contractor pipelines.

You will work closely with leadership and the Production Coordinator to understand upcoming project needs and make sure we have reliable talent in place. This role will also help shape the recruiting systems and processes to scale with the company as we grow. Strong performance can lead to expanded leadership responsibilities and performance-based bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a network of local crew and contractors, including videographers, editors, sound engineers, lighting techs, and production assistants.
  • Proactively source and vet new talent using online platforms, local networks, and referrals.
  • Develop a structured recruitment process, including outreach strategies, vetting criteria, and onboarding procedures.
  • Maintain an organized talent database with availability, rates, and specialties.
  • Align with the Production Coordinator to forecast crew needs for upcoming projects.
  • Ensure reliable, high-quality talent is available and confirmed for each project.
  • Continually improve recruitment systems and processes to support scaling.
  • Support long-term growth by helping to identify future staffing needs and role gaps.

Required Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in talent recruitment, production coordination, or creative staffing.
  • Strong understanding of video production crew roles and requirements.
  • Proactive approach to sourcing and building relationships with contractors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with recruitment platforms and tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Understanding of the Lexington, Kentucky production market is a strong advantage.
